Surgery

Most pets will require surgery in their life; from neutering to emergency procedures we are equipped to take care of them every step of the way. Although it may seem a daunting prospect, our friendly team are on hand to talk through each step of the process from admission to discharge.

Working closely with the anaesthesia team, we endeavour to provide the utmost care and are able to perform a range of procedures from cat, dog, rabbit and exotic spays and castrates to lump removals to gastrointestinal tract surgery, amputations and everything in between. Our vet Caitlin has a special interest in soft tissue surgery in particular and is always happy to discuss procedures, outcomes, and whether surgery is right for your pet.

Neutering guidelines and recommendations are constantly changing to account for variables such as your pet’s breed, expected adult size, temperament, lifestyle and potential health conditions – there is no “one size fits all”! In particular the age at which your dog or cat should be neutered can vary greatly but our vets and nurses will be happy to discuss this to determine the best time for you and your pet.
